Children's Mental Health Week: May 4-10, 2026
Help us raise awareness for child and youth mental health during Children’s Mental Health Week (CMHW), May 4–10, 2026.
Each year, Mental Health Week is acknowledged during the first week of May with an emphasis on children’s mental health and National Child and Youth Mental Health Day on May 7.
This year, Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) is aligning with the theme for Mental Health Week, “Come Together,” which invites all of us to strengthen our connection to ourselves, to one another, and to our communities. At its core, this theme recognizes that connection is foundational to mental health and well-being.
CMHW 2026 is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of connection, highlight the critical role of community-based mental health services, and call for action to build a more connected and responsive system of care for Ontario’s infants, children, youth, and families.
North Eastern Ontario Family and Children's Services (NEOFACS), in collaboration with our community partners from the Northeastern Ontario Mental Health Week Committee, has put together resources and planned activities for our communities.
We invite you to join us in recognizing CMHW 2026 by participating in and promoting the activities and events listed below. Your involvement helps spread awareness and strengthens our collective commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of children and youth!
Celebrate CMHW 2026 and encourage your friends, and family to take part!
Here’s what’s happening!
5 Ways to Well-Being & Giveaways!
NEOFACS and the Northeastern Ontario Mental Health Week Committee are committed to promoting Five Ways to Well-Being which supports people to live a happy and fulfilling life and feel engaged in their community.
Five Ways to Well-Being is a set of five simple, evidence-based actions, which can improve well-being in everyday life:
- Connect: Talk and listen. Be there. Feel Connected.
- Take Notice: Appreciate the simple things that give you joy.
- Be Active: Move your mood. Do what you can. Enjoy what you do.
- Keep Learning: Embrace new experiences. See opportunities. Surprise yourself.
- Give: Your time. Your words. Your presence.
Join us in celebrating mental health and well-being by incorporating these actions into your life!
