In an effort to bridge services gaps and to ensure that children and youth in northern Ontario have equitable access to Psychiatric services, the Ontario Tele-Mental Health Network was established. Tele-Mental Health services are funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and provided virtually.

Tele-Mental Health assessments include client consultation, interviews with parent(s)/legal guardian(s) of the child/youth, interviews with involved service providers and interactive discussions regarding diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

Referrals to this service are initiated by a North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) clinician who is currently providing service to a child/youth/family.

Client consent is required and participation is voluntary.
