About the Foundation
The North Eastern Ontario Children’s Foundation is a registered charity that shapes and improves the lives of children and youth from all backgrounds throughout the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming by supporting them in experiences that would otherwise be unattainable due to financial considerations.
The Foundation supports children and youth by providing camping opportunities for young persons who are either in foster care, receiving child protection or mental health services, or whose parents cannot afford to send their children to camp. The Foundation also offers post-secondary scholarships and funding for recreational activities to youth residing in foster care, receiving child protection services, or who are overcoming mental health challenges.
Further, the Foundation provides financial assistance to families to cover extraordinary costs during unforeseen hardships and for the care of children with complex special needs when all other public avenues have been exhausted.
The Foundation also raises funds to support innovative and urgently-needed programs and services that are not government-funded for North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS), such as the back to school campaign, the children's mental health week activities and the annual holiday toy drive program.
The North Eastern Ontario Children’s Foundation does not receive any public funding or assistance. Rather, it depends on the generosity of individuals, corporations and proceeds raised from various fundraising activities. North Eastern Ontario Children's Foundation shapes and improves the lives of children and youth, but we cannot do it alone.
