LOCATION: Hollinger Park

WHO: FASD Awareness Cochrane-Timmins (FACT) Coalition

WHY: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Day

On Friday, September 9th, FACT coalition members will be hosting a free family BBQ at Hollinger Park as part of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day. There will be crafts and activities for children, as well as booths set up to raise awareness about the risks of drinking alcohol during pregnancy and information on community supports.

These activities were chosen to increase awareness about the importance of making healthy choices during pregnancy. It is safest not to drink alcohol when pregnant … it’s just not worth the risk!

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is a medical diagnosis  used to describe a combination of abnormalities resulting from a mother drinking alcohol during pregnancy.
