About Social Work Week and Month

Each March, North Eastern Ontario Family and Children's Services (NEOFACS) joins agencies across the province in celebrating Social Work Week in Ontario and National Social Work Month, recognizing the profound impact social workers make every day in the lives of children, youth, families, and communities.

This year, the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) highlights the profession with the theme: “Care. Insight. Together.”

This theme captures the interconnected strengths that define social work — empathy, expertise, and partnership in action. Each word stands on its own, yet together they express the unique ability of social workers to blend compassion with critical thinking and lived understanding. This year’s campaign celebrates the trust, expertise, and humanity social workers bring to every community — and the difference they make when care and insight come together.
