Knights of Columbus: Coats for Kids Program

TIMMINS – On Tuesday, December 23, North Eastern Ontario Family and Children Services (NEOFACS) received a number of new winter coats for boys and girls from the Knights of Columbus Council #11568, Saint Joachim’s Parish, in South Porcupine.

The coats were purchased with funds raised throughout 2014 from various Knights of Columbus fundraising activities.  Tony Sangiuliano has been a part of the organization for approximately 6 years.

“I joined to help with the Knights and our community,” said Sangiuliano. “We work throughout the year to support our community…the coat donation is one example of the work we are happy to do.”

The NEOFACS Christmas Wishes Campaign helps to provide necessities like food, clothing, and gifts to children, youth, and families in the districts of Temiskaming and Cochrane during the holiday season.

“It is heart warming to see the outpouring of support and kindness for our 2014 Christmas Wishes Campaign,” said Brooke Ballantyne, Communications Coordinator for NEOFACS. “There are children in the communities we serve who will now have a new coat to keep them warm this winter.”
