TIMMINS – November 18, 2014

Cochrane District EMS (Emergency Medical Services) along with CDSSAB (Cochrane District Social Services staff) have put out the call inviting everyone to their annual “Fill an Ambulance” toy drive taking place at in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Saturday, November 29th 2014.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be made from 9:00am to 6:00pm. The donated gifts will make their way to North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) just in time for Christmas.

“Our hope is to fill the ambulance with new, unwrapped toys or donations for our community’s children who are in need,” said Derrick Cremin, Cochrane District EMS commander. “For the past couple years the community has answered our call, and helped us reach our goal.”

Toys collected from this event will be presented to the North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services. The donations will be distributed through NEOFACS’ service areas the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming.

“We are so thankful for the generosity from our community and to the CDSSAB and Cochrane District -EMS for the hard work that goes into organizing such an event.” Said Lorraine Charlebois-Thom, Volunteer Coordinator for NEOFACS in Timmins. “We provide services to children, youth and families - from infants to teens and we welcome any donations to make their holidays a little brighter.”
