On May 22, 2025, Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services (KCFS) and North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) came together in Timmins to sign a revised intra-jurisdictional protocol agreement to facilitate coordination in the delivery of both Child Welfare and Child and Youth Mental Health services within the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming.

The updated protocol reaffirms our shared commitment to working cooperatively in ensuring the safety, well-being, and strengthening of all children and families in our communities. It also emphasizes the importance of ensuring culturally appropriate services for First Nations children, youth, and families.

The gathering also served as a meaningful opportunity for the senior leadership teams to connect, share experiences, and strengthen relationships.

KCFS graciously hosted the event and presented NEOFACS with a beautiful handmade wooden artwork featuring a feather with the colours of the Medicine Wheel. This meaningful gift will be proudly displayed at our Ross Avenue Office.
