North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS) is proud to announce that its Transition Home Program in Timmins and New Liskeard has been officially renamed Maison Anderson House, in honour of longtime Board President Don Anderson.

The announcement was made during a surprise dedication ceremony held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the program’s Timmins location at 457 Wilcox Street.

The ceremony included the unveiling of new exterior signage and a commemorative plaque recognizing Mr. Anderson’s more than 30 years of exceptional leadership and service. Signage has also been installed at the program’s New Liskeard location at 157 Whitewood Avenue.

“A trusted leader and advocate for children, youth, and families, Don has devoted both his professional and volunteer life to building stronger, more caring communities,” said Cléo Charlebois, Executive Director of NEOFACS. “His vision and dedication have had a profound and lasting impact on our agency and the children, youth, and families we serve.”

The event featured remarks from NEOFACS leadership, Board representatives, Ministry partners, and a youth currently supported by the program, who shared the positive impact Maison Anderson House has had on their life. A testimonial from the program’s House Parents in New Liskeard was also shared.

Mr. Anderson, who joined the Board of NEOFACS’ legacy agency in 1989, has played a key role in developing and advancing the Transition Home Program and strengthening services across the region. His contributions have helped ensure that youth have access to safe, supportive housing units where they can grow and acquire life skills as they transition to independence and adulthood.

The dedication ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Governors, staff, community partners, and program participants, making it a meaningful celebration of leadership, service, and community impact.

Maison Anderson House will continue to provide essential support to youth aged 16 to 23 who are receiving services from NEOFACS, building on a legacy of care and commitment that reflects Don Anderson’s enduring influence.
