CHILD CARE WORKER
Full-time Position in Timmins

As a member of the Child-Care team, the successful candidate will be required to provide a broad spectrum of children’s services. The Child-Care Worker provides preventative and protective intervention services to children and families, providing services to and on behalf of children who are in the care of the Agency’s protection services and approved placements, completing risk assessments, developing protection plans and completing the required documentation necessary for determining disposition.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS):
• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, or a Baccalaureate in Social Work is preferred. A College Diploma in Social Services may be considered along with other relevant university degrees or diplomas deemed suitable by the Executive Director;
• Experience working with children, youth and families is considered an asset;
• Able to interpret and apply legislative requirements including but not limited to the Child and Youth Family Services Act, relevant regulations and Ministry standards;
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as required;
• Must be willing to travel as required;
• Bilingualism (English /French) is an asset;
• Candidates must possess a minimum G2 driver’s license at the time of application and be willing to obtain a valid G Class driver’s license as a condition of employment or already possess a valid G Class driver’s license and have access to their own vehicle.
